Movement

I believe movement is more than just exercising; it's about discovering activities you genuinely enjoy and can sustain. Let's explore how I can help you find joy and consistency in your movement journey.

Frequently asked questions

How do you guide clients to discover the types of movement they genuinely enjoy and will stick with?

Together, we’ll explore your past experiences with movement—what you’ve enjoyed, what hasn’t worked, and why. We’ll assess how much time you can realistically dedicate to movement and identify practical ways to integrate more activity into your daily routine.

What are some common misconceptions people have about exercise, and how do you address them in your coaching?

Many people believe they need to spend hours at the gym every day, lifting weights or running, to see any results. This simply isn’t true. Any movement is better than no movement at all. My goal is to meet individuals where they are and help them find realistic ways to incorporate movement into their daily lives. A lack of access to a gym membership or personal training doesn’t mean you can’t make an effort to stay active. For some, in this season of life, small steps like taking a walk, stretching for five minutes every hour, or even doing squats while brushing their teeth might be the most they can commit to right now—and that’s incredible. Every step counts, no matter how small.

In what ways do you incorporate the mind-body connection into your movement coaching?

I incorporate the mind-body connection by meeting clients where they’re at in their journey, encouraging them to move in ways that feel good and sustainable. My focus is on helping them tune into how their body feels during movement, using breath and mindfulness to deepen that awareness. Even minimal daily movement can have profound mental health benefits — reducing stress, boosting mood, and building a sense of accomplishment. It’s about creating a positive relationship with movement, where the goal is feeling better, not just hitting milestones.

Could you share a success story where your movement guidance significantly improved a client's overall well-being?

One of my clients once felt completely overwhelmed by the thought of exercising. Struggling with fatigue and a demanding schedule, she was hesitant to take on more movement. Instead of diving in headfirst, they chose to start small—just a few minutes of stretching each morning. Before long, those brief moments of stretching evolved into brisk morning walks or short stationary bike sessions. This movement began to help release stress and worry, improve her mood, increase her energy levels and set the tone for a better and happier day.  What began as minimal movement transformed into a powerful daily habit that has been so beneficial to so many aspects of this client's life. Today, she continues this daily movement—not because of a commitment made during a coaching session—but for the sheer joy of feeling better.

Can movement coaching help with stress management?

Yes, absolutely! Mindful movement can be a powerful tool for stress reduction. I guide clients to use physical activity as a way to release tension, clear their minds, and improve their overall sense of well-being. Simple practices like walking, stretching, or yoga can significantly lower stress levels.

What if I have physical limitations or injuries? Can I still benefit from movement coaching?

Of course! Movement coaching is highly adaptable to individual needs and limitations. I work closely with clients to create safe and effective movement plans that accommodate their specific physical conditions. Whether it's modified exercises or gentle activities, we'll find ways to help you move comfortably and improve your physical health.

How do you track progress in movement coaching?

Progress is tracked through a combination of self-assessment, feedback, and goal setting. We focus on how movement makes you feel—improvements in energy levels, mood, and overall comfort. We'll also celebrate milestones and adjust our approach as needed to ensure you're moving towards your wellness goals.

How long does it typically take to see results from movement coaching?

The timeline for seeing results varies from person to person, but many clients experience positive changes quickly!
Even simple, minimal body movements can have a powerful impact on your mood, energy, and mental clarity. When you move — even for a few minutes — your body releases endorphins, often called "feel-good" hormones, which naturally boost your mood and reduce feelings of stress. Movement also improves blood flow, delivering more oxygen to your brain, which sharpens focus and enhances mental clarity. Additionally, gentle activities like stretching or walking help reduce muscle tension, calm the nervous system, and give your mind a break from daily worries, creating a sense of balance and relaxation.

These changes often include increased energy, better mood, and a greater sense of body awareness. Sustainable, long-term results come with consistent effort and a commitment to incorporating movement into your daily life.
